ISLAND VIEW
BEFORE
As an Interior Design project in Fort Lauderdale for Restore 818 this Spec Home carried some serious challenges. The original home built in 1958 had a funky chopped-up floor plan with multiple floor level transitions created by poorly thought-out additions. But it also sat on a fairly busy road which presented challenges in the design to bring in lots of light while at the same time keeping privacy in mind.
On then plus side, the home was located in the up & coming neighborhood of Croissant Park walking distance to downtown Fort Lauderdale. It also had the necessary square footage under roof already to allow for a third bedroom to be added with the new floor plan without having to construct an addition.
AFTER
As you can see from the before & after photos below this simple home was transformed into a hip little pad. Walls in the previous kitchen, living and dining rooms were removed to create Restore 818’s trademark open living area. The previously dark and inconveniently accessed common bath was transformed by blowing open a second door to create a Jack-&-Jill bath. Finally, a third bedroom was created by modifying a previously uninhabitable addition.
* Note: Furnishings as shown are a collaboration between Restore 818 and a third party stager.
