BEFORE
Another Interior Design project for Restore 818 Investments, the 5-bedroom 3-bath configuration of this home situated in a high-demand East Fort Lauderdale neighborhood were a big positive. However, it needed LOTS of help both in terms of the floor plan and Interior Design.
As a short-sale property it of course needed lots of help when it came to the deferred maintenance of the home. The tight space of the kitchen presented a major design challenge for the new 4-bedroom floor-plan. The funky floor plan was especially a problem in the East wing of the home. This area was configured with two awkwardly sized and accessed suites with one barely differentiating itself as the Master. And the location of the formal dining area made it seem like an afterthought shoved into a corner.
AFTER
On the interior the design started at the heart of the home and the creative expansion of the kitchen area to a size more appropriate for the new floor plan. Next came reconfiguring the two strange suites on the East wing into an enlarged modern Master Suite and an office/playroom off the main living area. This created a 4-bedroom 3-bath floor plan, more appropriate to the square footage of the structure.
In the Master Bath Janie designed a truly unique space with the elegance of marble and a free-standing tub contrasted with shiplap walls and rustic hardware. The Master Bath incorporates a unique storage solution integrated into the mirror assembly designed by Janie that perfectly compliments the custom floating vanity.
On the exterior the curb appeal was substantially improved by removing the horseshoe driveway which took up the entire front yard. In the backyard the old-school screen enclosure was removed to open the pool area and brighten the interior of the home.
