Janie is not only a licensed Interior Architect and NCIDQ-certified professional—she is among the few in residential design who combine technical mastery with creative leadership. A LEED Accredited Professional, her career has been shaped by Boston’s historic elegance, Los Angeles’ eclectic mix of Mid-Century Modern and pre-war architecture, and South Florida’s modern edge. This rare breadth of influence allows Janie to fuse timeless architecture with contemporary living.

Janie’s career began in Boston at one of the city’s premier commercial interior architecture firms, where she managed multi-million-dollar projects across diverse sectors. Her move to Los Angeles deepened her aesthetic sensibilities, exposing her to the creativity of adaptive reuse, the clean lines of Mid-Century Modernism, and the timeless character of pre-war architecture.

Stepping into real estate development, she personally designed and managed more than 50 investor-funded spec homes in Southern California and South Florida. These were not just design projects but full-scale developments where every decision carried investment implications.

This experience shaped her guiding philosophy: every design decision must be emotionally resonant, visually stunning, and constructible. Today, whether leading a major remodel, luxury expansion, or ground-up new home, Janie ensures vision is transformed into reality with clarity, precision, and style.

John-Paul Micek

From building his first company at age 12 to overseeing more than 150 real estate projects nationwide, John-Paul has always been driven to build, optimize, and create. As Co-Founder and Operational Strategist for STUDIO 818, his role is simple yet vital: to align vision with execution, protect client investments, and ensure each home is delivered beautifully, logistically, and financially sound.

A serial entrepreneur by nature, John-Paul launched three service-based companies before age 30—including a landscape design-build firm focused on estate-level projects with budgets ranging from $350,000 to $1.2 million (in 1998 dollars).

That entrepreneurial drive led him into real estate investment and development, where he oversaw more than 150 residential and commercial projects across the mainland U.S. and Hawaii. His experience spans the entire lifecycle of acquisition, planning, design, construction, and asset strategy—from single-family homes to 350-unit apartment complexes.

As Co-Founder of STUDIO 818, John-Paul leads operations, construction oversight, systems development, and strategic planning. He is also a licensed Florida real estate agent, working exclusively with STUDIO 818 clients to secure ideal properties. For clients, his role is clear: eliminate inefficiency, protect investments, and orchestrate a process where complexity gives way to confidence.
