Organic Modern Waterfront Remodel in Wilton Manors

From builder-grade beginnings to a sophisticated waterfront retreat designed for distinction.
Before its transformation, the residence lacked the scale and finishes worthy of its waterfront setting. STUDIO 818 completed the Organic Modern design and renovation, re-engineering exterior openings for proper proportion, designing a custom 12-foot mahogany entry, and curated warm Japandi influenced interior spaces. The result is a home that flows effortlessly between indoor gathering spaces and poolside entertaining, tailored to both daily life and large-scale private events.

This Wilton Manors property began as a hidden gem — solid structure, enviable location, but builder-grade finishes and awkward proportions that dulled its potential. Our client, a technology executive with little time to spare, envisioned something more: a modern organic retreat that lived beautifully day-to-day while also serving as a stage for gatherings and investment value.

The first challenge was proportion. Ten-foot ceilings were undermined by low 80-inch doors, compressing the home’s scale. By re-engineering openings for proper 96-inch heights and enlarging windows to the water, we liberated the architecture and restored balance. The arrival sequence was elevated with a custom twelve-foot mahogany entry, establishing gravitas from the moment of entry.

Inside, a dark kitchen became an eat-in hub, its integrated refrigeration and concealed bar flowing naturally to the pool terrace. Heavy stucco textures gave way to smooth, refined finishes, while the primary suite gained a curbless two-person shower and custom storage solutions.

Today, the home is both sanctuary and stage — a refined organic modern residence where proportion, flow, and lifestyle align.

A Hidden Gem with Untapped Potential

Set along the Middle River in Wilton Manors, this residence promised location but lacked presence. The home’s bones were strong, yet builder-grade details and mismatched proportions left it feeling underwhelming. For our client — a high-performance executive seeking both indoor–outdoor living and a confident equity position — this disconnect presented the perfect opportunity for transformation. His desire for a Organic Modern design and accompanying renovation was fulfilled with exacting precision and white-glove execution.

Reimagining Scale and Presence

The most critical intervention addressed proportion. Low 80-inch doors beneath soaring ceilings compressed the architecture. Structural re-engineering introduced proper 96-inch openings, while most windows and doors were enlarged to capture natural light and water views. At the entry, a twelve-foot mahogany door redefined arrival with warmth and gravitas, setting the stage for the modern organic palette inside.

From Cramped to Connected

The kitchen, once dark and inefficient, became a host-ready hub. Custom millwork conceals integrated refrigeration, while a hidden bar — revealed at the touch of a panel — serves both interiors and poolside gatherings with ease. This reimagined flow reflects the client’s vision for entertaining that moves seamlessly from inside to out.

Organic Modern Refinement

Heavy stucco textures gave way to smooth, refined finishes that underscore the home’s organic modern character. In the primary suite, a curbless two-person shower was cut into the slab, while bespoke vanities conceal extensive storage within the block wall. Every intervention balanced architectural intelligence with understated luxury.

A Lifestyle Elevated

Today, this Wilton Manors residence embodies the client’s aspirations. It is both sanctuary and stage: a modern organic retreat for private mornings by the water and a sophisticated venue for developer off-sites and private celebrations. More than a renovation, it is a transformation designed to elevate lifestyle and value in equal measure.
